• Order & design briefs — references, screenshots, brand assets, and any other files or instructions you upload when ordering a thumbnail or pack.
• Payment information — billing details processed through our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Communications — messages you send through support tickets, contact forms, or email.

Information collected automatically

• Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance (see Section 6).

Information from third parties

• Authentication providers — if you sign in using Google or another provider, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) as authorized by you.
• Payment processors — we receive confirmation, transaction status, and limited billing metadata required to fulfill orders and handle refunds.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account, including authentication and password recovery.
• Fulfill your orders, deliver completed designs, and provide customer support.
• Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions.
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, delivery notifications, account alerts).
• Send optional product updates and promotional emails — only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• Improve and personalize the Services, including measuring which features creators actually use.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information under the following legal bases:

• Contract — to provide the Services you've requested (e.g., delivering a thumbnail you purchased).
• Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, where required by law.
• Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws, tax requirements, and lawful requests.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — vendors who help us operate the Services, including cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, error tracking, and analytics. These providers may access your information only to perform their work and are required to protect it.
• Designers on our team — to create the artwork you've ordered, our designers access the references and briefs you upload.
• Legal & safety — to comply with applicable law, court orders, or lawful government requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Sky Thumbnails, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will give you notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent — for any purpose disclosed to you at the time we request your consent.

6. Cookies & tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Services. The categories we use are:

• Strictly necessary — sign-in sessions, security tokens, and load-balancing. These cannot be turned off.
• Preferences — remembering settings like theme (light/dark) and language.
• Analytics — aggregate, anonymized data about how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may impact features that depend on them (for example, staying signed in).

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

• Account information — for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes or comply with our legal obligations.
• Order records & receipts — typically up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
• Design files you upload — kept while your order is active and for a limited period after delivery so we can support revisions and re-deliveries.
• Support communications — kept for a reasonable period to resolve issues and improve our service quality.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS-encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls, and isolated production environments. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Delete your account and associated personal information.
• Export a copy of your information in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

Sky Thumbnails is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or in any other country where our service providers operate. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

11. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@skythumbnails.com and we will take steps to delete it.

Our site may contain links to third-party websites, including YouTube, X (Twitter), and Discord. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via a notice on the Services. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
